Challenge: Turn audio into film

BBDO made a concept for a film series and recorded a series of interviews with SKF employees who are working on sustainability.

SKF wanted Martin Max to interpret and execute the concept for a Wes Andersson style of film. Positioning SKF as a leading brand in sustainability, the aim was to create awareness and interest in the brand to attract future talent.

Solution: Quirky personal portraits communicate sustainability with honesty

The light-hearted and personal tone of the films, shot with self-distance and humour, resulted in a feeling of hopefulness and authentic pride in SKF’s work.

Creating the Wes Andersson style was achieved without the luxury of time spent location spotting. Martin Max’s director, Martin Andersson, was able to find natural lines in the environment to frame the shot, with astill camera, and draw the viewer’s attention to the subject in the middle. The footage was edited with a slow tempo and quirky style. Grading is also important to Wes Andersson films, and this was done in a way that respected the SKF brand identity.

With a large dose of charm and warmth, this film series allow us to know the people who drive sustainable change at SKF.
